Hi there
I've just bought some front pads as my current ones are squeaking, I'm such a noob I think I might of ordered twice as much as I need :(

I bought 2x of these, I only need the front pads replacing (mates gonna fit them for me), Do I need to phone them and say I only need 1 as it says 'priced per axle' or do I need 2 packs

cheers :D

Are these Pagid pads worth the slightly higher premium over the Eicher brakes?

Hmm, You've lost me buddy. Copper grease? I've got some WD40 handy lolol :D :p

Should I just cancel the order altogether and take it to a garage and say the brakes are squeaking?

Yeah my mate looked at them all and said they all have plenty of rubber left on them but he said its possible the front pads ''have gone hard, because they might of been cheap ones'' - How true is this?

The more pressure you apply to the brakes, The more it squeaks, Light braking is fine
Car is a 206 1.6 xsi(04). It passed its MOT 3 weeks ago.

rubber? er no. pad material can't go hard, it is hard.

you need to apply copper grease to the back of the pad or the shim has moved.

Shows you here where you need to put copper grease, you can pick up copper grease and silicone paste from halfords, pretty cheaply

-You're just doing the pads, so ignore the new rotors section

Clamping brake hose. Epic bodge. :(

Cheap pads could be cause of squeak sometimes. Or a stone stuk in there.

If all the sliders are freed up and pad edges greased up then it should eliminate any issues

Fixed the unbearable squealing my EP3 has been making by rebuildinhg the caliper; the piston had gone badly rusty and was very tight within the caliper bore.

Not liking that video posted up there, you don't need to touch the hydraulics at the caliper end or clamp the brake hose for a simple pads and discs change.

Thanks for the video buddy but as a complete noob with cars (as you can see from OP), I wouldn't trust myself doing any mechanical work, Especially on the brakes :(

I'm still going to get the new front pads as I feel my brakes could be sharper (car I just passed test in brakes was very sharp) and if it stops the squeaking thats a bonus too.

Whats a decent price a Garage would charge me to fit 4 new pads and copper grease em up etc?
