Hopefully this is the second-to-last problem with the car, after solving the misfiring (dodgy ignition coil).

Basically at high speed, say I'm doing 70, then I come up to a roundabout and slow it down to 30 to approach the roundabout - the braking from 70 to 30 will be very juddery (like going over lots of very small speedbumps very fast - makes a duh-duh-duh-duh-duh noise).

It feels kinda like I'm vibrating my foot on the brake pedal or something. But I'm not.

Anyways, I thought it could be the brakes, but the disks, pads, shoes and rear cylinders have been replaced and the problem still remains. Fortunately that lot needed changing anyway so I didn't waste any money (leaking cylinders, low disks and pads, figured might as well do the shoes while I'm at it). Got new tyres put on by a garage a while ago, and they did the tracking/balance [apparently] while they replaced the tyres. But the problems still there.

So, any ideas from anyone - why could the car be juddering when braking at high speed? It's done it for maybe a year and hasn't got any worse, but it certainly hasn't got any better and I really think I should get it sorted.

It's a '93 corsa incase it makes any difference or is a common problem (haven't got a real car yet ;))

Warped brake discs? Either that or the pads are just bedding in. How long ago was it since you had the work done?

How hard were you on the new brakes did you settle them in gently or hammer them from new. It would be worth checking them to make sure they havent warped(unlikely if you were gentle on them for the first 50-100miles).

With everything that you've changed I would start looking at some of the suspension bushes. If you have play in them it can show up under hard braking. Don't know much about Corsas though so cant say if they are prone to wear or not.

Well it did it on the old disks, too, so I figured that it probably wouldn't be the new disks...

Suspension is definately a possibility. Any ideas on how would I go about testing that?

I replaced the disks/pads/shoes/cylinders... in terms of miles, maybe a thousand or two miles ago? Probably 8+ weeks I suppose, and I've done some pretty big trips since then.

I'm sure I've have had this problem for about a year now, noticed it a few months after getting the car.
