Brand new iPhone - charge?

Hi all, my new iPhone 3GS has just arrived, and before I put in the new SIM card, I wondered if I needed to charge it for a few hours first? Or do they ship fully charged? Bit of a newbie question, but thought I'd best check - back in the day they always said charge them for hours before you get stuck in, but these new fangled gadgets - you never can tell...

just turn it on and plug it in, makes no difference i find.

Doesn't hurt to give it a good overnight charge.

I think I'm with you on this one Feek, I might plug it in and leave it overnight - still got to set myself up with an iTunes account yet, so no doubt that will keep me busy for hours

They have also sent me a new sim - if i stick that in the phone tomorrow morning, I take it some mystical voodoo will shut down my old sim in my N95 and turn my iPhone on? I've never used the new sims ive been sent before, always just took the old one out of the old handset and went about my business. But I guess the features of the iPhone might need the new sim?
