Hi Guys

We have the entire Synology 2013 range live on the site now!

from personal single bay NAS units to powerful Home business, SMB and SOHO NAS enclosures, we have the lot.

All large NAS units over £500 are purchased to order and arrive within 48 hours.

over the next few days, the new QNAP range will be live too.

This is perfect timing for anyone looking to improve their home networking solution as Western Digital have released their market first 'Red Drives'

with the majority of UK allocation stock landing at OcUK from tomorrow onwards, there has never been a better time to take advantage of the benefits of a NAS solution.

the reds are totally optimised for NAS use.

the way that most NAS enclosures access data isn't the same as a standard computer. The Red drives essentially mirror that behaviour.

our business customers are going mental for these drives. and demand for NAS enclosures from Synology & QNAP is spiraling too.

What would you say is better out of QNAP and Synology for the home customer?

personally, there is not much difference in my opinion. Qnap tend to offer slightly higher spec options and cover more bases but in honesty, the only real difference is the UI

in my opinion, QNAP is a great interface and offers a lot of customisation options. but synology diskstation manager is really good. I like all the smartphone integration from them too. much easier to set up and operate than the QNAP offering.

Its personal preference at the end of the day and depends what you want from a NAS enclosure.

Time Limited Error Recovery (TLER) for anyone interested - normally only in Enterprise drives.

yeah, that :p
