Any fans of Brand New? I got their new album today after Deja Entendu become a fav album of mine and im not dissapointed. After a few listens to it there are some good stand out tracks and i guess like Deja Entendu a few that you have to keep listening to, to enjoy.

Didn't like it when I first listened to it, but it's a real grower. I loved Deja Entendu, and it is a slight move away from that sound, but I think I'll really end up loving the album once I've listened to it a few more times.
 
I'm a fan of these and knew they had a new album coming up but didn't realise it was this soon. I'll give it a listen later.
 
HAve to say im a massive BN fan. Have loved them since about 2000/2001 when Your Favourite Weapon was released, back then they were considered a punkish kind of band...then they improved and matured with Deja Entendu which is probably one of my favourite albums ever.

Funny how no one heard anything from them for years then this new album suddenly pops up.

Legged it down to town to buy a copy....now i kinda wish i hadnt!
Just seems like an utter dissapointment from them. It's just too damm quiet and reminds me of the last few tracks of Deja, but without the charm.

Boring and disspointing. But hey thats what happens with most bands third albums.
 
Listen to it a few more times Shining and give it a chance. I felt the same (especially about the too quiet bit) but it's actually quite a dark album, and it's well worth putting the time in to listen to it. I love it now, and think it's a fantastic album.
 
Brand New are my favourite band EVER and i've been anticipating this album for about 2 years!

Although it doesn't hit you straight away like Deja did i think it is a lot darker and with a few listens it certainly grows on you. Track highlights for me are: Jesus, Degausser and You won't know.They've matured so much since Your Favourite Weapon and i purposely put that in my car on the way to college this morning and although it is catchy and good to sing along to it doesn't really have any depth.

If anyone has listened to the demos that were leaked ealier in the year what are your oppinions compared to the final album? Which do you prefer? Myself i wish more of those tracks had of been finished off incorporated into the album.

Untitled 2 instead of Welcome to Bangkok and Untitled 7 instead of Handcuffs. Maybe others.I think that Untitled 6 'Cleanser' would have been an awsome addition to Deja. I wonder what album we would have had in those hadn't been leaked???

Also Untitled 3 > Coca Cola

That's a tad surreal - I was wondering just this morning if they had a new album out yet, (I'm a bit out of the loop these days).

Haven't listened to the untitled demos in a while, but from memory I definitely prefer the actual album tracks to the demos.

If the demos hadn't leaked, the new album would have included those demos. After they leaked, Jesse made a decision to write completely new song for inclusion on the album. It's said now that he regrets it and he'd rather have put the demos out on the album instead of writing new songs. But can't change that now.

I never heard the demo. I decided to just wait for the album to come out cause either the demos would just be forgotten, or would end up on the album.

It take a bit to get into the album, and yet again it's an entirely diffrent Brand New. But I like it. I'm not comparing it to Deja Entendu because it's nothing like it.

I love it.

I like degausser, jesus christ and Handcuffs.
The rest is pretty meh and generic.
One thing I would say, the album seems to be a headphone kind of album. There's lots of stuff you wouldn't notice on a casual listen I think.
Overall pretty disappointing.
