Hi guys.

Had my 360 for a few days now, and when playing Saints Row 2 offline I had a crash and when playing COD4 online I had a crash.

Is this usually a bad sign or can it be down to the game?

Thanks

Could be the games, SR2 was a bit buggy anyway and playing anything online can induce a crash more so than offline.

If it starts happening with everything, regularly or you get corruption then it's time to return.

SR2 crashed for me multiple times, before I got bored of it (within 4 hours :p).

Probably just the software, as said. Consoles games aren't bug free as they once were.

I had CoD 4 crash on me twice a while back. 2 mins later I had the RROD.

I wouldn't worry though if it's a new machine, just take it back to the shop if it does give up the ghost. Or even if you're concerned about it, speak to the shop where you got it from. A lot of the major stores are very good when it comes to returning/replacing 360's.

I've played endless and endless hrs of COD4 on the PS3 and its never once crashed on me.... Sounds like your console could be over heating... Is it covered or near a rad? If not take it back... Shouldn't be crashing.

I've had Live! die on me and a recent run of RROD but my 360 has only very, very ocasionaly hung (maybe 3 or 4 times since 2005). I'd get a swap now.

My Wii had the occasional dirty disc error from the moment I bought it. I decided to live with it when really I should have swapped it straight away. 5 months later the drive completely failed.

call of duty 4 has hung consistently for me since launch, it doesnt happen that often but over the whole lifespan of playing it probably about 15 times

My new one did the same and it turned out to be ventilation. I was keeping it in a cabinet.
Since taking it out of the cabinet I never had a single crash until I got RROD over a year later.

What has playing it on the PS3 got to do with anything

To tell him to take it back, when multiple people have said it has occasionally crashed for them too is a little odd. LBP crashed for me on the PS3 at Xmas, never crashed before and hasn't crashed since - should I return my console too?

No cos it's a PS3 therefore very very unlikely to be hit by the dreaded RROD. :D

Ive owned a 360 since launch. Every one i have had has crashed once of twice a week. But i hammer the console with hrs and hrs of play. Saying that my Elite has never crashed

Was playing TDU online earlier and I got another lockup/crash. I might get in touch with the store I bought it from, or maybe I should hold out and see if it's going to continue doing it?

As said I think I'll move the 360 to somewhere higher up aswell just incase it is overheating.

Cheers

I'm inclined to say that TDU is another game which can be prone to the odd crash, but it's a little concerning that everything you have tried so far has done so. Not sure if that's just bad luck, or a proper case of faultyconsoleitis :o

Might be worth totally unplugging from your network/net connection just to rule that out for a while.

If it's a brand new console, have you identified yet if it's one of the new Jasper revisions?

Hmm, how do I know if it's a new Jasper revision? But just to update, I called the store this morning and they said if I bought it in they'd exchange it for me so it's all good I guess.
