Hi

I will be attempting to build my first pc in years sometime next year, and I kind of have spec in mind now but I wanted to ask how you lot go about choosing what brand of graphics card to go for, do you just go for the cheapest?

For example I will likely get a 4070ti super, but I’ve seen ones by Gainward, Zotac, Asus, Gigabyte, are they all much the same or is there a particular brand to go for/avoid?

Thanks

Generally I usually just buy whatever's the cheapest at the time.

They're all pretty much the same. Some offer slight overclocks, fancy RGB, water cooling, nicer looking cards, slightly better/quieter cooling etc but the actual performance will generally be within 1% of each other.

A good thing to look out for is the company's RMA process. Some manufacturers make you ship cards back to Taiwan/Singapore etc, where as some have UK RMA centres which can give you peace of mind. There's a thread on here that talks about the different RMA procedures for each

I've had cards from many different brands over the years, Sapphire, Asus, Zotac, Nvidia, Gigabyte etc and I don't think I'd say I prefer one over the other. That being said, I've never had to RMA a card, so my experience with the companies involved has purely been on a product, not a service level.

Ah cool, cheers, looks like all the ones I mentioned have good RMA process and some are dealt via ocuk.
