Am i the only person that always swears by a particular brand for a particular component.

I'll only ever buy a Gigabyte Motherboard, Intel Processors, Corsair RAM, Samsung Drives, BFG Graphics Cards. Am i compltely OCD or are there other people who do the same.

I'm just questioning my sanity :cool:
 
Always stuck with Intel cpu's I'm quite a fan of Asus stuff in general too espec the mobos.
The rest of it :confused: whatever happens to be cheapest at the time :p
Altho I'm loving my Xilence psu *Modular is the way to go* :D
 
Don't really have any. Just buy what's best from others' views on this forum. Every company makes ****-ups and every company will eventually sell you a lemon. Brand loyalty is a bit dodgy...

edit: I do have a thing for Lian Li cases though... ;)
 
always get western digital hard drives, thou when i used to buy PC's the drives in there were WD and rubbish, as i think that the companies were using the budget range from them
 
aye western digital, they are very silent and fast drives, i got 2 in my system i had them for nearly 4 years still working like new :)

anyway cheapest brand wins my money
 
Why are there so many people who "swear by" Intel CPUs? It was only 2 years ago that AMD were well on top. Did you buy Intel chips back then too?:confused:

I can almost understand motherboard brand loyalty, but for processors where the performance crown flips from one to other every few years I can't understand...
 
I just buy whatever is considered the best for whatever I am willing to spend. Product and performance reviews mean a lot to me when making a purchase.
 
I did like Asus boards at one point, but they add too many rubbish features that look cool but do bugger all and sacrifice stability, i've had loads of Gigabyte boards and never had a bad one. I'm not blind with loyalty in the sense that i wont buy something rubbish just because it is a certain brand. that would be silly :)
 
Intel CPU/chipset, Nvidia graphics cards, Asus motherboards (all of mine have been asus) and I always used to get seagate hard drives but am willing to buy WD now and tempted by samsung for their cheapness.

That's the problem. Most companies use el cheapo/crappo parts for systems. With the help of forums like this I'll be building my own in future. There's some top advice comes from here.

I'll be returning to Intel for CPUs. I don't know why but they just seem better :confused: :cool:
 
Arctic Cooling/Arctic Silver
Intel mobile CPU's (will change if AMD offer a better mobile platform)

Used to be heavy into Epox boards and AMD CPU's but there's so many good motherboards from a range of manufacturers now. Still quite like AMD, I'd probably consider a Phenom B3 over a Core2 for a desktop system just for something different...
 
I don't swear by brands but I do have preferences - ASUS mobo and Western Digital, other components I tend to just get the best performance/price ones there are.
 
I always buy intel for some reason but graphics is fair game, whatever is best at the time is what I will buy.

I've always owned nVidia cards except when Radeon 9700 came out; it was great. Truely and utterly crushed nVidias offerings at the time.
 
i have no preference. i usually buy budget tat anyway. :p

but one brand i will avoiding in the future is sapphire. nowt wrong with the product but it's the ***** who moderate their forums who have put me off. i can't believe how rude they are and they way they put people down. they won't be getting any more money from me.
 
I've got no particular brand loyalty, I do have a soft spot for Asus motherboards and Microsoft keyboards/mice so if other factors are equal I'd normally pick them but that is as far as it goes. I'll generally buy or recommend whatever I think offers the best performance/price/reliability at any given moment in time.
