Hey all,
Last night I got annoyed at the fact that the net seemed slow (I am on 1MB ADSL Max) so I decided to pay a visit to the BTw Speedtester website.
Anyway, upon checking I am getting a message saying that the IP profile for the line is now 500k (supposed to be 1000k).
My modem was syncing at 1300+ consistently, I decided to reboot the modem to see if that was the problem and now it won't resync higher than 1024!! My questions; a) Why would BT suddenly lower the IP profile when I was connected at <1151k for a good 2 weeks? and b) How in the hell can't my modem resync above 1024? c) How long before it resyncs back at my old speed of 1300? It seems content where it is!
In the past I never sync'd below the 1MB threshold (1151k) and now I can't go above it no matter how many times I reboot the modem (which I suspect might be a problem in itself.. flagging line message?).
What are my options? I can't live with 500k net, and I can't wait around for days for it to sort itself out (have a lot of web intense work stuff to do, and it's going to eat in to my spare time!)
