Brass Tactics

Really enjoyed the older RTS games Warcraft, Dune, Command and Conquer and Age of Empires with the build anywhere approach. 10+ hour Warcraft sessions with 2400baud modems were fantastic. Used to play single player with a no save, no casualties approach for an extra challenge. These sadly evolved into set scenarios with pre built bases and capture points that isn't anywhere near as fun especially in multiplayer. This reminds me of Z Steel Soldiers which I felt was one to skip although this does look pretty.

I also feel the idea of Store exclusives is a good reason not to buy. Understandable but frustrating situation with consoles but not on the PC!

Who know's though, perhaps it will turn out to be brilliant and I end up buying :)

I'm kinda tempted given that it's at a decent price point, though my love of RTS games died years ago. I loved the C&C, Starcraft, Total Annihilation era, but it's a genre that for me just became stale and dull.

VR has had me enjoying things that I never thought I would though, so maybe it can kick some life into a RTS game.

Yeah, I agree with that. Not having the freedom of where to build, and being able to instantly see what your opponent is up to from the start always felt a bit cheap and limiting to me.

Store exclusivity...at this point, I can't knock it. We need games being funded, and if that means an exclusive deal vs not being made, it needs to be done. Once VR is mainstream though then yeah, that's a different story.

I just like the idea of an RTS in VR, and while this is by no means the ideal form, I'm definitely interested. If this did well, there would be a market for other devs to exploit and invest more funding into. Imagine total war but you could sweep units across the map with your gestures

I haven't played a RTS in years, just couldn't get into them, however this has really grabbed my attention, even tempted to preorder, mostly because of the cheaper price,
On a related (ish) note, does the Oculus store have regularly sales?
