Brawn GP Merchandise

Hi guys,

Something that's been bugging me since I bought it lol...

I bought a Brawn (Jenson) cap at Silverstone from one of the official merchandise lorry stores.

It's a nice cap but it's not got a hard shell like the one that Rubens and Jenson wears. Anyone else got one and can relate to what I am talking about? I'd love to know where you can buy the ones with the harder shell.

Maybe an image will make more sense...

This is what I want...

However, this is the same as the one I have...

notice how the top caps have a harder shell wheras mine is indented like its just cloth and doesnt have that hard shell lining.

Seriously though, it's probably a mock up thing on that picture to keep it in the right shape so it looks good to photograph.

yeah I think this as well... but the caps that Jenson and Rubens wear are deffo a harder shell. This one I have looks more creased as per 2nd pic too.

this is the hard shell one which he wears and seems to be unavailable for retail

The front two panels on my Brawn cap are solid like the OP first pic but the helmet design is on the back of the head.

I got it from the Grand Prix Legends stall at Goodwood FOS as they looked the best quality and it seems to be an official Henri Lloyd one.

Having looked through the merchandise for the different teams I can safely say RBR have the tackiest womens t-shirt. Even if they were my favourite team I don't think I could bring myself to wear that t-shirt!

Rang Henri Lloyd today and the woman I spoke to said that the cap I have is one of the first they did ready for Silverstone, but they're not being made anymore and the cap that you have is the one that came out later and currently the only one in production still.

They changed it slightly by making it 6 panelled and the panels at the front harder.

The reason I ask is because of this post by someone who bought a cap .... Not sure when the one that you have hit the market though, so I don't know if he's talking about your cap or not so I thought I could judge for myself if I saw a pic!

"The cap is hugely disappointing for me. The crown is hard as a rock and is pointy. It fits awkwardly on your head and makes you look like you are hiding a unicorn horn...that is how I would describe the look. It is nothing like the caps we see Sir Jenson wearing or the rest of the Brackley boys, who's caps appear much softer and form fitting to the skull. I would skip the caps for now until we see more appear, to be quite honest."

That was 28 Apr, 2009.

The crown bit on mine isn't hard at all ya see, just flimsy cloth all over apart from the peak.

Which one? The Mrs and kids have a few different tops and i like most of them.

I have always though that RBR have had the best clothing. They have stuff that you would actualy wear every day, especially the jackets. Nearly bought the zip up jacket a while back.

Going to Spa next month, so think I may save for a day glow Brawn umbrella
