Anyone got a recommendation for a bread knife?

I've stuck with good old wusthof for the majority of my collection because they feel nice and keep a good edge, but I can't really justify the money for a bread knife.

I've recently bought a breadmaker and the bread knife I picked up at a catering store for £10 years ago just isn't cutting it (no pun intended) slicing an xl loaf every day.

Willing to spend £30-£40, was looking at victorinox but I thought I'd see what the speccing gurus of OCUK had to say.

Aye, go for a Victorinox I'd say. You can't sharpen bread knives so they don't last as long as others so no point spending loads on them.

Personally I don't bother with a bread knife at all. I feel like I get better results from a nice, sharp chef's knife.

Bread knives also for me, I just use one that came in a "set" which is a fully metal one, which is perfect for the job. Had it 5yrs and still goes well. Rather spend money on good chefs knives as you notice those.

Already have an array of good knives, including wusthof classic chefs knife and santoku, and the smaller knifes.

It's the breadknife, it doesn't seem right spending £90 on one but then again I don't want a crappy one like mine now.

Think I'm going victorinox, cheers guys.
