I have been playing games for years now. Unfortunately MMOs have become such a time sink that I have built up a collection of great games that are prettty much unplayed.

I am taking a break from MMO gaming and I want to play though what I have on my PC at the moment that I haven't played properly.

Dragon Age (only half finished)
Dragon Age II
The Witcher (1/3 of way through)
Mass Effect III
GTA IV (and Episodes)
Empire Total War
Napoleon Total War
Mafia II (about 5 missions in)
Amnesia The Dark Descent (about 1/2 way)
Borderlands (Finished Zombie Island and most of main quest)
Just Cause II
Metro 2033 (about a third in)
Star Wars Empire at War (Gold)
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 1&2 plus expansions
Dead Space 1 (Half Finished)
Dead Space 2
ArmA II
Fallout 3 (Only got a few quests in)
Fallout New Vegas (only got a few quests in)

Those are a snapshot of some of the games I want to get played. Please share your thoughts on what I should play first and why.

Play The Witcher, then buy The Witcher 2 and play that, by the time you're done with those you can go back to MMOs haha. + Dragon Age 2 is worthless really.

Dawn of War II + Addons are right up there with the best RPG/RTS games, I always find myself going back and playing through missions or skirmishes. I'd also recommend, if you do not already own them, grabbing Company of Heroes + Expansions.

Im sort of in the same boat Spud, spend a lot of free time in MMo's and have copious amounts of unfinished games I'll probably never complete :p

Hmm..forgot to mention I have all CoH to play as well

I think playing through GTAIV or either of the Episodes(I prefer these) would be a nice change of pace from playing MMO's.

Mass Effect 3 for sure if you loved ME1/2 - but you may not appreciate the RPG elements as much right now if your looking for an MMO break (I'm not a fan of collecting/hacking/scanning etc in ME).

I haven't played the first Witcher, but Witcher 2 is a must for an RPG fan imo - get it for sure if you enjoy the first game.

If you enjoy action adventure with a emphasis on the action I think you might enjoy dragon age 2.

I don't think its a revolution or anything I just think its a enjoyable...romp of a game that is fun in small doses but in no way matches what they accomplished with origins.

The way people talk about you'd think its a 1/10 game, its just a bit of a average game really not a outright stinker unless you detest action romps.

Try it you never know you might have fun with it.

Remove Dragon Age 2 from your list of games to play. Finish Metro then move on and finish Witcher. Give yourself a break from RPGs after the Witcher by finishing GTA IV :)

Remember to buy Witcher 2. Shame you have both Fallout and New Vegas to play. Both are really good! Maybe Mod FO3 a little before playing and then give yourself a break before starting New Vegas.

Delete Empire, Delete Dragon Age 2, start ME3 get to the end and delete it before the end, then come on Arma2 :D

I got Empire in a Steam sale - I think for £3.49 or something silly. I played it once for about 5 mins. I tried a sea battle and just hated it.

I'll juts take that list and write my thoughts on th items I've played:

Dragon Age - gets boring real quick
The Witcher - gets boring real quick
GTA IV (and Episodes) - first rate, real fun
Empire Total War - very involved but worthwhile, needs patience
Napoleon Total War - very involved but worthwhile, needs patience
Amnesia The Dark Descent - fun, but only if you scare easy, I suppose
Borderlands - Great game, period
Just Cause II - One of my faves, great fun, but slightly repetitive after a while
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 1&2 - Great! I like it better than Starcraft 2
Dead Space - gets boring real quick. Rails.
ArmA II - The best on the list, but very involved
Fallout 3 - Great game, period
Fallout New Vegas - Great game, period

To sum up, my favourites are Arma II, Fallout (+NV), Just Cause 2, Borderlands, GTA IV, and Warhammer.

If I had to pick one, I'd choose ArmA 2, although top game would be Skyrim, although that's not on your list.

Mass Effect series if definitely a good set to be getting on with, maybe Skyrim as well you should get unless I missed it.

I find that most single player games get boring for me too quick, including DAO, Witcher 2 and Skyrim.

My advice is stick to the MMOs, but not just RPGs, also try out battleforge and age of empires online.

Nar, ignore bhavv continue with the MMO break to be all refreshed and ready for GW2 then Archeage!

Alternatively get DCS A-10C (in the sale today)!
