Breakdown Cover.

I'm heading down to see my mate at uni soon, down in Canterbury.

Journey seems like it will be just under 500 miles there and back. My parents reckon I should take out breakdown cover just incase, as it's a long way to push it back ha.

Is it worth it though? Can you cancel it after a month?

Say if my altenator belt snapped, would he put one on at the side of the road or tow me to a garage?
