Im with the RAC on the blue badge scheme. I joined 2 years ago at the Autosport show, and the guy said "it wont ever be more than £82"

Ive called them out once 12 months ago for a bust rad hose, which was fixed in 5 mins.

Renewal through a week ago for £120! Thats more than i paid for the actual car!

Im never more than about 30 miles from home, the car is very reliable anyway, nothing on it to break, so im thinking of cancelling it, unless i can get a much much cheaper deal

Im not bothered about cover at home, all i really want is "fix at roadside, and if thats not possible, tow me home"

It all seems quite expensive though so im thinking about cancelling and taking my chances with no breakdown cover.

So who do people here recommend. Do many people go without breakdown cover at all?

If you want 12 months basic roadside cover, in any vehicle you are in (as a driver or passenger), you can get it from the AA for approx £37 for the year. You get 5 call outs :) definately worth having some sort of cover.
