Am currently with Kwik Fit for our vehicle breakdown policy but they're transferring the policy to another company so looking at alternatives as usually do at renewal times.

RAC / AA seem the most expensive for vehicle cover including home start etc. so tried Compare the Market

They come up with lots of companies I've never heard of before such as RescueMyCar, ActionCall, Eversure then a few familiar ones; AXA, SwiftCover and GreenFlag excess

I've been with GreenFlag before with no problems but what is everyones recommendations? Have you tried any of these other brands

If you want a known name check what you can get on topcashback.

Personally I went with start rescue for a few £ as I am hoping not to have to use them.

I always go with AA/RAC and use the cashback offers as that brings them in-line with the likes of Greenflag.

I'm always weary of these unknown/new/indy recovery firms, in that being considerably smaller fleet size, you *may* find waiting considerably longer for recovery than the likes of AA/RAC.

TBF when I used to have AA cover and you'll find people online regarding this, if the AA vans are all busy you can still be waiting hours or they'll send a indie out in place.

Autoaid keeps popping up in these type of threads.

Thats true as I remember when I had RAC last time a third party came out instead

Will try the cash back ones as an alternative. either that or will try green flag excess as its still the same cover but half the price (£40 for a year) and you pay the excess per call out of (£10 at home or £40 on road) IF you have a breakdown

Currently got complementary KIA Assist as a new vehicle purchase (think they use the RAC) which I will probably renew for two years if the price is good. Otherwise I would go back to Green Flag who I was using for my previous motor (a rather ancient Corsa or at least it was when I parted with it). The only thing I didn't like about GF was the annual age based increment as although they start off cheap as the car got older tend to creep up quite noticeably. In fact, if I hadn't bought the KIA I was contemplating switching to the AA at that point.
