Breakers

I need a part from a breakers yard. The yard says bring your own tools and take what you want. The part I need is behind the dashboard.

Generally at breakers yards, am I okay to go there with a few crowbars and yank the entire dash out just to get my part? I tried calling and asking them but no one is picking up.

Heater blower directional switch.

From what I've read you need to unscrew and remove the seats to make space to unscrew the centre console out, remove the audio device, remove shed loads of screws from the dash, get behind the dash and remove some more screws to take out the heater blower directional switch.

It's a bit long tbh!

I'm free to do it tomorrow only and have a long journey in a few days so need the heater blower directional switch for the journey - having the air con aimed at the windscreen is not a nice feeling in the summer.

I went there this morning. Before I did use the crowbar extraction method I asked first. They were fine with this as the car was "only a Focus mate. Do what you want."

They wouldn't have me doing the same on the old Jag I saw in the yard.

So yeh, I got my switch!
