Yeah, the fabric and padded plaster idea seems a good idea. Think I'll pop to Tesco and buy some.
don't use padding
don't buy ordinary plasters either
buy some zinc oxide tape

I tried the 1000 mile dual layer cotton ones. They're ****e.
Surely, Real Men massage the blisters with Whiskey/Rum/Medical_Spirit until the boots have bedded in.![]()

yup they're gash
don't bother with dual layer stuff - buy socks made by bridgedale if you're going to do serious walking and/or just want your feet well protected
It's all down to personal preference, I've tried a few socks and the Bridgedale WoolFusion Trekker have been the best by far.Bridgedale are nasty. One sock guaranteed to give me blisters... I get the impression they are a "starter" sock for those not willing to splurge on proper woollen ones like smartwool or wigwam which are both leagues ahead of Bridgedale.

Got any tips on breaking in new shoes so they don't keep crippling my heels? I've got two new pairs that are both painful to wear. One pair I bought months ago and haven't worn more than once or twice as they cut into my heels and really make them sore.![]()
