Breath of the Wild

With all of the hype surrounding Tears of the Kingdom I thought I would give the previous entry a good effort. Being my first Zelda game I wasn't sure what to expect and at first I was enjoying the many different mechanics on offer but, after leaving the Plateau the game feels somewhat aimless and my enjoyment is starting to waiver.

Is there something I'm missing? Am I not in the correct mindset for this game?

I need something to pull me along I feel. I just don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. Like now for example, I've upgraded my Slate and now... what?

I'm going to start by finding the towers and unlocking the map.

I stumbled across my first memory and Impa gave me the Champions shirt which is kinda cool. I've been killing Guardians and found some random fish guy in a pond who has pointed me toward his prince... I'm playing this on PC, how it all crammed into a switch is beyond me.
