Another scorching hot day here so off I went to this little airfield just outside Selby to a fantastic display by some old war birds.
While the big boys were at RIAT I made the short trip here.

AFAIK, it's a Hispano Buchon. A spanish made replica with a Merlin engine or something along those lines.

Yup - Hispano HA1109/1112

Hispano got a license to build the BF109's with their own engines.
However - they didn't do that well - they then stuck Merlin's into them and did a hell of a lot better.

There are very few true BF-109's left flying due to most of them getting mashed after the war.

Sadly Black-6 isn't one of them. :(
