Just the same as we do now you mean?

Or is there some secret EU legislation I am unaware of that says we can only employ EU nurses?

There is no positive discrimination to take on EU over UK or foreign workers unless I am mistaken... in fact I believe that would be illegal.

More places because we reduce immigration?, places for what for who?

The rest of the world can't just come and work in the UK like people from the EU can, they need to get permission and a visa to work here, and we have to restrict how many of these we give out.

If your argument was about jobs outside the NHS you would have a point, but the NHS actively recruit from outside the EU, I am sure they would be more than happy to take on more EU citizens that came to the UK looking for work than having to actively go and recruit outside.

Funny you should say that but 6 have been safely delivered to these shores this morning from a small boat off Dover by a border force cutter.

Where are you getting your news from? While what you say above is correct, the back story you have to the poor people who drowned off Camber Sands was a fabrication. Where did the rumour start and why?

 Five (or six) people did die off Camber Sands yesterday. There's still something a bit odd about this story - the police are being very quiet.

They'll be installing an escalator on the White Cliffs of Dover next, to help them get up them. So glad to see Draconian deterrents being put in place.....

They're not.

They've said they appear to have been friends from London, in their late teens early 20's
I suspect they're not saying much more until they've made certain they've contacted the families.

Pretty much routine, the police won't give out specific details of people who have died until they've informed the next of kin (and that can take more than a couple of hours when they are starting from finding the bodies).
They have now named some of them.

Tony Blair: Immigration is good for the UK.

On the topic of the US presidential campaign, Blair said many of the issues in focus mirror those in Europe. He lamented that the centre ground in politics is “under attack” from “populism” and “insurgent movements” from the left and right.

As a result of this, Blair noted common ground between the centre-right and centre-left, stating: “I think the single most important political distinction today is actually between open-minded versus closed-minded, and that’s why I think this crosses the boundaries of traditional — centre-right and centre-left have much more in common with each other right now than the right does with the centre-right, and the left does with the centre-left.”

Blair described this situation as “the inevitable political challenges of globalisation”. He acknowledged that opposition to open borders and free trade will be “incredibly difficult to deal with” but that the “revolution” must go ahead.

The former Prime Minister admitted globalisation hurts living standards in the West but praised the process and his own part in it.

Funny I thought there was an "expert" consensus that immigration doesn't lead to lower living standards...

So much foaming at the mouth about immigrants. Leavers constantly like to remind Remainers that immigration isn't the main reason they voted Leave. Yet I don't see much evidence for that here at the moment. Guess it doesn't take much for the pretence to slip.

No one's foaming at the mouth and immigration was a big part of why a lot of people voted leave, deal with it. Not everyone shares your open borders views.

I do not vote on immigration, I voted for democracy, the ability to force UK MPs to be accountable for their actions rather than MPs telling us sorry its the EU rules.

Globalisation = no borders, export jobs, anti-democracy.

"Funny I thought there was an "expert" consensus that immigration doesn't lead to lower living standards... " so you have just disproved your own point

Hmmmm

I think you got a bit carried away with immigration is to blame for everything there.

But going to your post
no borders, wrong. Probably the biggest gainer from globalisation is china, want to tell me they have no borders?
export jobs, certainly if someone has cheaper labour who can do the same thing, and hence it will affect living standards where people are overpaid to do a job in relation to the global rate
anti democracy, well that's just lol

Immigration is tied up with the no borders argument. If you have mass migration, then the concept of a border loses importance.

Five men from London tragically died off Camber Sands. This has been confirmed by the police and by the families of those who died. Somehow a rumour started that they were drowned migrants. That's the only odd thing about this story.
