Brian Cox series on BBC

I have a scientific education myself and i guess i find it patronising. I know its aimed at laypeople, its a pathetic reason.

So if he came to your Uni when you were there to do a lecture, would you get up and walk out on him because he's a douche?

Most of it is going over my head still so it needs dumbing down a bit more.

i would bum him..

No i wouldnt have walked out, that is rude. I think this is going out of all proportion. I doubt very much he talks to his peers with a stupid grin , a paul weller haircut, and a list of similes and metaphors as long as his arm but for a TV audience i guess it works.

After watching some more youtube clips of his previous series its perhaps not him as much as the style of the programs, hes just a douche by proxy.

please no more, i have upmost respect for his knowledge and acheivements, he is just a bit wavey davey gravy, hence a douche.. Which actually means nothing, i think a lot of people are douches for next to no reason other than hair cuts, football affiliation, choice of newspaper.

I use the word douche in a loving and endearing nature not hateful or spiteful. Almost an ironic insult in my circle.

I would like to hear Magick's 'Wonders of the Universe' :) (Seriously)

LOL. I would explain them but I don't have the time to spend hours typing up what would essentialy be 5000+ word lectures on the internet. If you want to know how the universe came about and you intuition isn't develpoed enough to inform you then you could always do some mushrooms/acid/dmt instead of blindly following what other people tell you.

Erm....Okay?

I'd hardly call Astronomy/Astrophysics followers blind. After all it comes about from many decades of research and evidence and mathematics.

And after he's stopped screaming that his brain is melting a thousand times into an empty shoe, fought off the pan-dimensional dragons with his broom-lance and stopped pixies from stealing his tears, when exactly does this esoteric insight and understanding manifest itself?

I can't be bothered explaining half the things I do to people, but I don't tell them to go and rape a dictionary or smash their face with a hammer in a bit to rid them of their stupidity.

If you've got a contention to make, the onus is on you to spell it out, otherwise why bother getting involved in the first place?

*puts down popcorn*

alright then, explain a single aspect of your choosing.

B@

Pretty please - please tell me how you think it all happened.

you could always do some mushrooms/acid/dmt instead of....

Is this how you came to your conclusions? By essentially tripping out?? :-/ This doesn't do much for your credibility...

I was actually being serious, not baiting. Feel free to assume my intuition is underdeveloped, do you have links or what not to start me off? I mean proper stuff, things about the actual formation of the universe, not stuff about arks or Nibiru etc.

Of particular interest are the lectures called "Great Selection Of Souls or Psyches"
You point people at a site like that, yet you criticise mainstream physics for supposedly being :

Most of which is purely theoretical and academic assertions.
There is evidence for the vat majority of what is put forth in cosmology. There is zero evidence for things like spiritual energy, auras, the aether, spirits, any new age nonsense. If you claim otherwise please provide peer reviewed articles which provide evidence which has been replicated by independent educated people. Alternatively you could just contact James Randi, demonstrate your claims and win a million dollars.

People who believe drug experiences tell them the nature of the universe are fantastically naive as to what science actually involves.

If you liked this series then do check out my other thread "Everything and Nothing" - It builds on what Cox talks about, then goes into great detail and gives you a brief history lesson too.
