I'm taking my 12 year old daughter to London on Saturday, we're staying near Tower Bridge and she's just got into curry.

I'd like to take her to Brick Lane for the experience, is there a good value go to restaurant down there? I'm not up for spending hundreds because she just won't appreciate it, but also don't want a run of the mill curry for me.

Wetherspoons.

Get a chicken jalfresi for £8.55 includes a drink. Get a bottle of Brewdog Elvis Juice with it, which is normally £4.19 per 660ml bottle, your are effectively getting your curry for about £4.

Plus the Elvis Juice is strong, 6.5% and a 660ml bottle is over 4 units of alcohol.

Personally I'd skip Brick Lane. I used to really like going to Brick Lane, The Monsoon was my favourite but the last few times I've been (to a few different restaurants) the quality of the food has been poor.

Tayyabs is a good call. I really like Khans which is near Bayswater tube.

Tayyabs is good around that area. If you're willing to go a little further, hop on the Elizabeth line to Forest Gate (it's 3 stops) and go to Wanstead Kitchen. It's the best curry I've had in London by quite a distance.

Pretty good. Fairly limited selection in terms of different curry types, and being a Pakistani curry house it was BYOB which we didn't realise until too late.

The food was decent though and not bad value.
