I've got an iPod Touch 2nd Gen which suddenly seems to have stopped working. It was on at the time but only on charge, I was not using it when it went wrong.
iTunes does not 'see' it when it's plugged in, and a mains charger also produces nothing on the screen, so I guess the screen could have had it...
It doesn't seem to be the backlight, as I shone a bright torch on the screen and could not see anything so I can safely say that it's not a backlight issue.
The 'Find my iPhone' app was unable to find it also, even though I'm in somewhere where it automatically hooks up to the Wifi:
I'm usually able to locate it if it has wifi access.
So, what can I do to fix this? Would it be work taking it apart and disconnecting the battery at all? It's a pain to take apart so I'd like this to be a last resort really...
FWIW, it was running iOs 4.2.1 (the latest for this model), and it was jailbroken and I had SSH access turned on in Cydia.
Thanks.
