So after faffing with 8GB of new RAM that i purchased i was told to update the bios. Stupidly i did the most recent update to realise it was only for windows 8. It crashed half way and rebooted, only to not boot back up again.

It won't POST or go to the BIOS screen. I've tried moving the Jumper and Resetting the CMOS, but nothing. Guessing i'm going to need a new motherboard. Yey money!

Here is current specs, what do you suggest?

try and find the bios chip, idk if msi have them soldered or are pullout chips like on asus/asrock

if they pull out you can look on fleabay and order a new bios chip,if they are soldered then you need to rma the board back to msi for repair

Looks like it well and truly in there.

Do you reckon i'll have any problems with returning it to MSI as i bought it as part of a whole rig online. i wasn't given any boxes, only the documentation.

MSI don't do component rma. Have to send it back to supplier that i bought the whole system from, which was mesh computers. Now i don't want to do this for several reasons.

1: Its mesh and their customer service os shocking, i had major problems with getting it in the first place
2: I will have to send my whole rig back and pay for postage. No thanks!

May as well just buy a new motherboard.

Been looking at these.

Did abit of googling to see if the bios on your board to see if the bios was removable and came across something saying your board has M-flash - "http://event.msi.com/mb/tech/m-flash.php"

The links says "Simply Update & Backup Your BIOS!

Compared to common mainboard which need extra BIOS chips, MSI’s M-Flash has a double advantage which doesn’t need extra components and secondly, all your BIOS data will be saved in the USB drive. The stored data does not only have backup and upgrade function, moreover it can also be seen as a portable BIOS chip which is actually able to boot up your PC.

Features

Backup/Restore Your BIOS to/from Any USB Flash Disk
Avoid Unnecessary Repair Due to Accident Failures During The Upgrading Process
Earn more BIOS Lifespan by Reducing Unnecessary Rewriting Process"

You sure there is definitely no way of repairing your board, like if you download an older bios onto a usb or something? (worth a try before you spend any money)

Yep tried everything i've found. Most involve floppy drives, which i dont have. MSI themselves recommend NOT using M Flash as it creates the problems i'm experiencing.

I have also tried BIOS on a usb but my keyboard won't boot up either so i can't press the buttons than are required.
