Is it possible to fix a "bricked" Sony PSP ?

I have tried going into recovery mode by holding down the "R" button and powering up but nothing !

I would like to get this fixed for a young family member, any advice would be appreciated.

Think you have to use a Pandoras battery to fix it you might be able to fetch one off the bay.

The only fix you can do is to use a Pandora's battery. It's not difficult but requires some work. I can't link you because the forums where its discussed how to do it generally also talk about warez and iso's on the same page but if you google around for "fix bricked slim psp pandora battery" you will find that it has been extensively discussed

Ive had a look around but they dont seem to mention a fix for the 3k PSP's.

I am not looking to run homebrew operating systems or copied games, i just want it fixed for the little fella to play his already massive collection of UMD's.

Doesn't work on 3000 series as I mentioned. Sony removed the ability to run a jigkick battery to make loading CFW much harder.

How exactly has it been bricked?

I believed my old 1000 series was bricked for a while as I just couldn't get it to turn on.

Turned out it just needed charging overnight (it wouldn't even power when plugged in until that was done).
