BRICS draws membership bids from 19 nations before summit

Saudi Arabia and Iran are among the countries who’ve formally asked to join

Wondering if the west should start to worry about membership growth of the BRICS ? Some are vast countries with vast supplies of energy. Could it be that the main reason for the shift away from oil by some countries, as to not be dependent or held to ransom by the BRICS. Would it erode the wests power and wealth, are we witnessing a shift in power?

Are we still The West if countries like Brazil are invoved? They're far further west than most of The West are...!

I think the line for those calling the west is situated around the gulf stream.
