bridge network connection

Guys

i need to extend the length of my network cablel, rather than buying a new, longer cable, am i able to bridge my cat 5 cable so i could join another one on to it?

what do i need, had a quick look around but couldnt find anything on the site.

How long do you need to extend? Cat5 is so cheap anyway I would just get a longer cable as opposed to possibly introducing a point of possible error/problems into the system.

A switch would do the trick though.

i have the cable running under the floorboards, otherwise thats what id do

Look on google for RJ45 couplers. Bear in mind though you could have problems.
