brief cool'n'quiet question....

Not a question for me, but does cool'n'quiet work with an AM2 sempron 2800? It's listed as a feature on places selling it but I'm sure I've heard that it's only activated on cpu's over 1.8ghz.

Or is this a porky?

I'd say it almost certainly does, the technical documentation(pdf file) doesn't mention Cool N' Quiet by name but makes reference to multiple low power states, this is exactly the same as is mentioned in A64 CPUs that I know for a fact support Cool N' Quiet. Therefore I'd be very surprised if it wasn't a feature, so tell the other person they are talking mince

Yeah I'm inclined to agree, but I just looked it up on Wikipedia..

and it says it's only supported on the 3200 sempron and above. If this is true then AMD are kind of mis-selling their product...

Still none the wiser. Doing some research for a friend.
