I'm all for it :) Though might have to change my Username

As for the Stadium, planning permission has been granted. It's the Government and the Liberals from Lewes that are delaying the construction.

the planning permission has been revoked, its being redecided. so basically we are where we were last summer.

They should spend the money on the west pier tbh, i know the end bit is staying but they should revamp it to its former glory, its part of the heritage of the city and replacing it with a giant phallus is just pointless.

Fully agree.

Though it's highly likely that would pull even more tourists into your town, thus stretching the local resources even further. ;) :D

Could I just ask which ones you think they are? I don't really seem to notice them.

Im coming round to it. At least its being privately funded, that was my only real concern.

The comment about 500,000 visitors a year is taken out of context a little. They meant they hope it will have 500,000 visitors a year, 20 percent of which will be new visitors to brighton.

Um, i don't see much of a problem withe buses myself. They're very reliable and run every few minutes from all the various bus stops...especially the number 1 and 1A.

you've never had to use them for a long enough stretch of time, in the 3 months I relied on the buses to get me to work (from Coldean to the Town Centre) they were a complete nightmare, overpriced, arsey drivers, dirty...

the buses in birrghton are ok at best, but our always overcrowed. I think the tower is ugly tbh, and falmer needs to be built first. Brighton is already to busy anyway and as said above there is not enough parking at all.

Mmm..which route do you use?

For me, i use the 2A bus and because of where i commute from, £1.50 for a single from Steyning all the way to Brighton (Around 1 hour and 15mins), it works out amazingly well. Always punctual, not that crowded at all and bearing in mind the route goes through Southwick, Portslade, Hove etc...i quite like the service it provides. :)

Overpriced? Do you pay for each journey or have you bought one of those saver thingys in which you pay each month at a time? So for the regular commuter, it works out a lot cheaper.

Agreed.

I maybe should have been clearer. It doesn't need further council planning permission is what I should have said. :)

I had a 3 month saver ticket priced at £120.

Buses I have used / use regulary are...

25, 24, 28, 29, 46, 49, 5 and 7

the price is extortionate, when I first moved to Brighton it was 80p each way or £2 for a saver

It takes the 25 30 minutes to get in down the lewes road to St. Peter's Church or 10 minutes by car

Mm prices have gone up and i can only argue petrol prices, increased number of routes, reliability improved and inflatation...

petrol prices? so yeah, thats whats made them increase the price when the petrol went over £1 per litre and AGAIN when it went DOWN to what it is now?

increased number of routes? that'll be the 28 and 29 halving the amount of stops then?

I also take offence to when not even full buses sail past scheduled stops even when you wave them, and when bus drivers change over mid run at the Lewes road garage and spend a good TWENTY MINUTES messing around before we set off again.

o.O !!

Looks like the 2A is a pretty good route then...only other ones i've used is the 1(A) and 49 i think. Plus the 2.

I've experienced nothing like that. :o

I must admit, I like the online departure boards and whatnot, and the free bus to the football is good, but I avoid it during rush hour nowadays, especially with the current trend of people playing their crap music on speakerphone
