Brighton - no 56K

I took the train down this weekend as the weather was nice (except for the wind chill )
I was a bit shocked at one stage of the day because I'd be looking through my 300D's viewfinder and things would suddenly get brighter or flip back to being dark without me doing anything - it was like it was opening and closing the lens aperature for no reason (no I wasn't hitting the DOF Preview button).

I met a guy on th beach with a 20D/24-105IS F4L w/manfrotto carbon fibre tripod. He also had the 10-22 Sigma, 70-300 Canon DO. Naturally, I was envious.

Poor West pier !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's looking a little worst for wear, it was still standing 8 months ago.

Used to live in Newhaven (near Brighton), don't think brighton is too photogenic but the starlings flying in at sunset is pretty great.

I got quite a few of the starlings, but best to experience rather than to photograph.

The main reason I went was for fish and chips and the sea; photography was nice sideline.

Agreed, the starlings are better to watch than to photograph.
