Being a warm day today we decided to take a trip to the beach. Having a 2 1/2 year old we often take our bikes places on the back of the car, but I normally leave the camera at home because it's awkward to carry.

I've recently switched to using an Op/Tech utility sling and found it much better for taking on the bike because it doesn't bounce around so much. So today had the opportunity to take it to brighton (parking in the centre is horrendously expensive, but you can park at the marina 1 1/2 miles down the coast free for four hours, which only takes a few minutes to cycle.

Most of the pictures I took were family shots but when it got to the evening that changed (and so did the weather.. was freezing on the way back)
My bad framing gave me an opportunity for some slightly different crops to usual! All of these shots taken with Canon 60D / 55-250

These colours are pretty accurate to reality in my memory!

Thanks, by raising the shadows you mean making them lighter?
That one was massively flat out of the camera due to the lighting / distance / atmosphere so I increased contrast quite a lot to get it like this. Will have a play around some more.

edit: have to say I've had a look on my uncalibrated monitor at work and it's amazing how much detail is lost in the black area of the pier on the shots with the sun in them, compared to my calibrated monitor at home (and they are both dell monitors ;))
