Hi guys,

This year I have done a 5km and a 10km - both of which I have done before but managed to PB them both this year. As I have been feeling quite fit because of the training for them I have decided to push myself a little further and do a Half Marathon :)

So in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS TIME! I am doing the Run to the Beat Half Marathon in Greenwich (near where I live - THANK GOD! I can hobble home lol!).

I am supporting two charities - both of them brilliant :) the first one is Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research who helped me get a place on the run:

Also the British Heart Foundation - which I wanted to fundraise for for a special reason. My friend's nephew passed away at 16mths old a couple of years ago and the whole family have been fundraising since then for BHF. I wanted to add to their total by running for Jake.

I also had a personal reason for choosing BHF as I had heart complications as a baby and this is my way of saying 'thank you' to everyone who would have supported my parents and family back in the day.

Any donation is appreciated and will definitely help with my motivation!

Can't thank you enough. :)

I saw Will put this on facebook earlier, will fire you some wonga when I'm paid on the 28th if that's not too late?

That would be great thank you :) the pages will still be active. :)

Will sort something out for you later this morning BB

Thanks Huddy! :)

Done and good luck! I guess I should avoid Greenwich that weekend, I like cycling round there.

Yeah come and support me :p bikes should be ok but they are closing a lot of the roads :)

Good work BB!
Ill come and support with a OcUK banner, Greenwich just round t'corner from me.

Yay! The more support the better :)

Done and good luck. :)

Thanks for the sponsorship! Was nice to meet you too :) so grateful!

Thanks MK :) am planning to start the race and continue at my pace till I can see the finish and finish off on a sprint (that's usually how it goes anyway ;) lol)

I'm not going to race off at the start (I personally think thats stupid - unless you have trained that way, as you use all your energy that you need for the long haul :/) rather save energy, have a steady run and sprint the final 500m or so!

Really touched at how people on here (that I barely know) have sponsored me :) thank you so much!

Anonymous is me, I was so bored at football this afternoon (yes we are playing THAT bad at the moment) that I realised I had forgotten to bung you the wonga. It was being stoopid on my phone, so I had to go back in and add the comment afterwards.

No there is another anonymous m'lover...

Thank you though! :)

:eek::eek::eek:

where were the first pics ? :o

You get them once you've sponsored ;)

Remember to eat a good breakfast tomorrow. Lots of nice carbs to provide fuel! Also make sure you stretch as much as you can. Infact, start stretching now. :)

yup :)

Been told to stretch after and not before. Thats what I have been doing all along and it works for me...??

Thanks for all of the well wishes, sponsorship and support :)

Came in at 2hours 17mins and 50secs which I am SOOOOOO chuffed about!! :p

Especially when I thought my time was 2hours 31mins... (according to the clock time) my maths is obviously rubbish!

Today was HOT 22degrees and very sunny... I took advantage of all of the water stations... best bit of advice was from my running friend who told me to 'take tissues'. ;)

Was a really good run and a great atmosphere... Most of the way round I had a big smile on my face there is music on stages all the way round which gives you a boost I had a name badge on my top so randoms were shouting me name and encouraging me!!! Also all the little kids were at the side of the road handing out jelly babies and their hands so you could high five them! :)

I also had the advantage of having friends who lived on the route... one of them had made me a banner which was brilliant and she did a video but YouTube told her she had to take it down as it had the Eye of the Tiger on it!! I'm glad I managed to see all of my friends it was particularly great to see them at the most challenging points - 6 and 8miles and of course my parents were at the end... along with my boyf who sprinted across Europe from a family wedding to be there. :)

The last mile was the hardest for me... tired and people passing out all over the shop, but still managed a sprint finish :)

One of the best days of my life. Thank you all xxx :)
