I was only a wee nipper when they were on, but I can vividly remember when the WRC did stages in Grizedale Forest, back before they reduced the GB stages to just Wales. I, for one, would love to see a return back to other British and Scottish stages of yesteryear. As it stands now, its quite a trek to see the Welsh stage of the WRC, and I strongly suspect it's the same matter for a lot of other people who adore the sport.
I know there's still grassroots rallying still going on, but it's just not the same as seeing current WRC cars and drivers scream around corners. Does anyone know why they dropped all the other stages? Was it cost or just the host town/counties saying no more?
