Hello all,
Im trying to get my hands on some of the 24 hour ration packs the british army uses for as cheap as possible, i can get them at £10 per pack but delivery is a killer at £5-8, so it costs about £30 for 2 of then, im ideally looking for 3 as cheap as possible.

I know its a computer forum but hell may as well try :P

Thanks

Why anyone would go out of their way to buy a rat pack is beyond me. The only thing good you used to get in them were the sticky toffee pudding and the decade old biscuits.

I find them tasty!
And its for a music festival in a month or two, i dont want to faf around with a cooker so am just going to heat some water with a hexi burner and drop the packet in, also saves on washing up except for a spork..

Good idea, to be honest. I had food poisoning at one festival. Ah, explosive diarrhea in a tent with no toilet - good times!

You could probably make your own ration packs, too.

Just dont forget your jet lighter ("windproof lighter"), trying to light a hexi block with matches has given me a lot of burns over the years :) I also spent 20 minutes trying to boil water for a pot noodle once only to drop a hexi block in it :( That was a real ****! moment.

I love British Army ration packs. American ones are nice also, a little bit sweeter have things like Tabasco sauce. German ones are nice very meaty - tried a few about 12 years ago.

Feel sorry for you Forde :P

It does not specifically have to be the british ones its just i have used them before when kayaking and no they come with a lot of extras as well as the boil in the bag stuff, Like the waterproof matches, gum, Boiled sweets etc. Whereas buying three Boil in the bag things from a shop would probably come to about the same as the Ration pack without the extras.

Everyone in my house heard me burst out laughing when I read this :p

Hopefully this won't happen to me when I go to Leeds in August ;)

See the person carrying a handbag? That's you.

surplus store use it.

alterantively find the local army barracks tell them of asn impending zombie invasion and that you heard they were selling 24hour ration packs to the local population.

British Army rat packs have changed (for the better) and they aren't too bad, but have you tried searching for the American MRE's? Much better and all the kit you need to cook comes in the packs.

Speaking of BA packs, i used to like the baby's heads and also mixing rolled oats with the chocolate powder - mmmmmm!!!

Not sure what they are called but saw a police TV show the other day where they had 2 meals in boxes. The simply added cold water and left them 10 minutes and they were hot.

Might be worth looking for.
