It's addressed to the occupier so I normally wouldn't even entertain opening such spam.

But I opened it anyway curious since there is no gas here and it reads like a regular electric bill.

has my supposed yearly usage for the last 12 months divided by 12 is 35.33 quid which could actually be accurate as I spend something like £1 a day on my meter.

the letter says "don't worry this isn't a bill please keep it for your information"
"please keep this for your records"

on the back it says "I'm already on the cheapest tariff"
the letter even has a customer number at the top.

My electric is with EON though...
British Gas and E. ON are both part of the group of energy suppliers known as the 'Big Six', older companies that dominate the energy market in the UK.
it tells me "morrisons data services read your meter"

so why does a competitor to my energy company have a meter reading of mine and send a letter that if addressed to me personally would look the exact same as your yearly meter report from your actual supplier?

I'll take a photo of the letter if people want and edit out my address

EDIT
ops my bad it's addressed to "the occupier occupiers" and actually has my neighbours address.

seems I opened a letter for my neighbour I just assume was spam for me.... (only the 4th number of the address is different so it's hard to notice if there isn't a name)

FFS sick of my postman already... but how come there name is erm wrong? they are doing a runner when they move out right?

Maybe the postie made the same mistake which you made? Bit harsh....
He's done it a few times but to be fair I've never had a christmas card etc go missing and I ordered some trainers online the other day, postman carried the huge box on his round  it was big enough to fit 2-3 shoe boxes too
