British GT - Brands Hatch

Very much looking forward to going to Brands this year for the British GT as my boss has just set up a new team - Secure Racing and they will be doing their first race at Brands in the only Aston Martin in their class. Sunday the team will be doing a family day event as a part of the launch and I'll be spending most of my time in the pits.

Should be a fun day!

mhhh..........mind you, to get to brands il have to travel right accross the country to get there

silverstone I know a short cut to which makes the time pass........but to get to brands its boring motorway........unless i hire a supercar then..............neeeeeeoooo!!!!!!! (car screaming pass noise)

I totally forgot to update this thread with pics when I'd been, last race of the season is this weekend at Silverstone, We had to let our second driver go for various reasons but have managed to line up a great replacement - Tiff Needell!

The team has done pretty well in it's inaugural season including a 3rd place podium at Spa, if we can get the sponsors to pull their finger out for next year and get some of the cars performance issues sorted there should be lots more podiums next year, hell with Tiff driving this weekend who knows what we could achieve!

I'll be sure to update the thread after the weekend.

Went to donington to see this a couple of weeks ago, jolly good race!

Just noticed on google maps that there are cars on track at brands

Yeah our gearbox got stuck in third and we had to retire which was a shame.

Bit of a nightmare actually - the ABS failed while Peter was out doing practise laps, at 150mph at the end of the straight!

Aston Martin Racing reckon it will only take three days to rebuild and they were able to send another car down for us to use for the actual race, but unfortunately it was a stock car without the extra £45,000 worth of speedy goodness we had been able to add to the original car - so it was about 5 seconds a lap slower than the car that crashed.

Still, Peter and Tiff drove their hearts out and we finished 25th out of 30 (after starting from the back).

I will post up a report from yesterday as soon as we get the photo's together.

Peter had a little stiffness in his neck but the Head And Neck restraint system stopped any serious injury. Him and Tiff still raced the next day.

Time to update this thread with some more info and photo's methinks!

In the past couple of weeks I have attended two events at Silverstone, the World Endurance Championships where I was a VIP guest of Aston Martin Racing and this weekend just past at the British GT again - this time with a different team to last year.

Last year my company Dtex Systems had bought and run a car under the Secure Racing banner which earlier this year we decided to let go and have them do their own thing. However our relationship with Aston Martin Racing is rather good and led to us setting up a new team direct with AMR themselves - CyberRacing - and we even have the Managing Director of AMR as the lead driver.

This weekend I was actually working (corporate hospitality) so don't have as many shots, but will upload some official ones when they come through.

Just a taster for now - the new car (and me standing to the left)
