Touring Cars came to Donington yesterday, anyone else go? Took the folks along as they have never been to Donington and as of which decided to take a bit of a step back from running around taking photos all day and just sat back and enjoyed the action.

The racing was awesome and I must make sure I watch more of the racing in future instead of just taking photos.

Anyway, here are a few of the ones I like, best images from my day are here:

Some cropping, levels, contrast and saturation adjustments on images, but apart from that they are all as downloaded from the camera. Crops were only to position car on-screen more generously.

1) Rob Collard, 1/200 @ F8 to much RAC??!!

2) Gordon Sheddon, 1/250 @ F9

Because Clio's are crazy :)

Comments and critique always appreciated,

Thanks for looking,

Make the URL smaller in the bottom corner, it's getting on my nerves :p

Nice shots, I particularly like number 4.

favourite's the third one, lovely sharp images but (and this isn't speaking from experience here) i can't help thinking that a slightly longer exposure (or a bit of playing in photoshop) would've gotten you a faster-looking motion blur.

Great shots, my favourite is number 4 because you have captured the car kinda 'mid-air', quite different from the usual panning shots, like it :)

good shots, like number 4 best, as already said maybe a tighter crop would make it just that bit sweeter.

where abouts were you shooting from mate?

Thanks for the comments everyone, I was shooting for the Touring Cars at the Old Hairpin, there is a section of track that has no fences and you are about 10-15 feet away from the cars. Really want a longer lens as it would give me so many more options at this corner if I had 300mm + to play with.

The Clio was taken at the final section of the track before the pit straight, I wanted to show my mum how the cars jump into the air, she was impressed. Again, had to open the lens up to F/4 and would have really benefited 300mm + here as well.

Time to get the pennies saving again I think!
