right i have a problem on my new pc with my broad band, it only happens while gaming an works fine on my other pc, basicaly while playing bf2/2142 i get lag which lasts 1/2seconds maybe more, my ping is constantly changing which makes it impossible to play.

at first i thought it might have been the usb ports but having tried them all i still get the problem. the only programs that are running are bf2, aol, fraps and teamspeak which is the same as my other pc.

when i first installed this pc i had the prob and it was mcaffe that was causeing it, so i uninstaled that and now just have avg. it did work for a day then the problem came back.

my specs
asus a8n-sli premium.
amd 3700+
pny tech 1gig ddr 400hz
nvidia 3dforce 7600gs.

Defrag your hard drive. Set BF2 to 800x600 low or medium settings for everything, AA off. Disable the realtime scanning of AVG. Shutdown AOL (or as much of it as you can). Close Fraps. Set Teamspeak to only use a small amount of bandwidth (do this in Teamspeak>Settings>Bandwidth, set to 32KB/s for both upload and download). Consider using the UTP connection on your modem/ADSL/Cable device if it has one. Close all other programs that may be running that you aren't actually using.

Now try again and report back.
