Due to some personal circumstances, I’m renting a property for 6 months and will then be buying a place of my own.

I see there are a few rolling month to month contract broadband deals out there, has anyone had experience of something similar or can recommend what to look at?

Also, daft question.....can I sign up to a broadband deal without having to pay for a phone line? I’ll never use a landline for phone calls, only my mobile. Is it possible to get broadband internet into a flat without having to pay for a phone line package too? Thanks.

Thanks all.

I see Now Broadband are doing a 60mb speed deal for £25 a month with a £65 setup fee. Will have a look at that also.

Not really a high data user and the only game I play online is The Division 2 so latency shouldn't really bother me. I'll look at Cuckoo as well. This is only temporary as I plan on being in the property for 6 months or so and then buying a place where I'll go for a 12 month contract

Why don’t you just sign up to a normal contract and take it with you when you move?

There is no charge to do the above and it’s unlikely you’ll end up somewhere that bt can’t supply an alright connection unless your moving to Hull. Once you are all settled in, cancel and order Virgin if it’s available. If Virgin isn’t available well you’ll be stuck which whatever BT can offer anyway.

Seems rather costly to sign up to a rolling when you really don’t need to.

It's a wee bit complicated. My partner is living in a flat that we intend selling or letting around October time when we will both be buying a house together. We thought we would take her broadband contract with us as its fast Virgin cable with a TV package. The place I'm renting for around 6 months will be temporary until we buy together so it makes sense if we want to stick with Virgin that we take her contract with us and I just grab a monthly one to tide me over, if that makes sense.
