I am on a wireless connection with a D-Link DI-524 router plugged in & that going to my system. Windows xp sites just seem to pop up faster & I used this router with cable a few weeks back with no probs. I am not on a modified OS, just stock kernel, all updates & latest firefox. I am wired in also, not using the wireless part. Same system same browser, just not the same OS. Maybe it could be me, but it does seem like pages in linux load a little slower.
Broadband a bit slow in OpenSuSE 11, but fine in windows???

Firefox is a little slow in linux these days, is the Chrome ALPHA as quick as you would expect?
I don't have chrome, could it be my connection type to the internet? It is a wireless isp.

Try Opera for a moment maybe.
There are things in linux, like trying to do an IP6 resolve 1st, which could slow it down, but I'd like to rule out firefox 1st.

Hmmm, I do have IPv6 on. Cool, the IPv6 was it it seems, I turned it off, rebooted & it is faster. I tried Opera, it is faster, but I like firefox better.
