I have had this problem for over 6 months now!, I have no clue whatsoever why this happens but it does. I am on my computer and it will randomly drop connection to the internet but I can remote desktop into my 2nd pc and gain internet from that pc.

I am using powerline adapters on both PC and both are using different Ethernet 5 port switches. This past week when I have remotely connected to the 2nd PC, that PC has now started dropping the internet connection but the computer I am on is working fine ..

My ISP has said that I have no disconnects from them.

I have to click troubleshoot problems and it is saying DNS not working or something. Then randomly start working again!.

Any ideas what is going on?.

Thanks :)

Quite possibly. It's just that if Powerline adapters are involved they're usually a good place to start.

When the Internet drops check the connectivity to the router (Ping or try and connect to the configuration pages).

Restart your broadband modem: 1. Unplug or turn off the modem. 2. After all the lights on the modem are off, wait at least 10 seconds. 3. Turn the modem on or plug it back into the power outlet. To restart a modem that has a built-in battery, press and quickly release the Reset button. If this doesn't fix the problem, contact your Internet service provider.

When the internet drops I cannot get into router but can start remote desktop and use the internet on that.
