Broadband - Deutsche Telekom

Has anyone experince of broadband in Germany? Is it a State Monopoly with Deutsche Telekom, or are there a number of suppliers?

Does anyone know what packages are on offer? And where to look? My German is almost none existant - good job I will have helpers when I get there.

There are plenty of other companies you can use. Most of my colleagues in Germany use T-Online and have (I think) 6Mbit down, 512Kbit up.

There seems to be a package withan IP phone.

prices look good compared to UK
