I am fixing a PC for a friend of the family and she is still using dial-up.

In your opinion would you recomend broadband instead? She only uses the internet for email and some online shopping, so does broadband stack up against dial-up in terms of price?

Can you recomend a broadband package that is cheap and reliable for someone who doesnt want a heavy cost as she doesnt use it lots?

My dads a lite user, I signed him up to IDNet Home Lite. Good price and from experience, IDNet have excellent customer support.

I wouldn't go with the cheapest you can find, same old saying, you get what you pay for.

I've been with Newnet for a couple of months and their support is fantastic. They've got a couple of Lite packages;
Home LITE 12
1GB Data Transfer
Speed up to 8Mbps
Annual contract
£9.49 p/m
Home LITE
3GB Data Transfer
Speed up to 8Mbps
Monthly contract
£11.95 p/m
