Broadband package with best TV box?

I'm currently with EE and am a couple of months away from contract ending.

The EE TV box is pure crap, every update makes the box slower and slower, recordings regularly fail. I'm currently paying £40 a month for the 'privilege'.

I have EE TV and 40Mb Fibre, ideally I want 76-80Mb fibre but I don't want to be paying twice the cost like Sky is quoting me.

Who has the best TV box?

My parents have BT TV, it seems fairly good and there's usually some decent new customer offers going (along with cashback via the usual websites).

I looked at BT but they said I couldn't get BT Infinity because of oversubscription on the cabinet.

Virgin internet is fast and apart from a couple of days over the last 3 years it's been ok for reliability. Tivo is terribly slow and feels very old fasioned compared to using the latest apps or an Apple TV, but it does record ok and seems to do the job. It's no less clunky that Sky+ HD. Haven't used Sky Q so couldn't comment on that. Youview is meant to be good with BT TV, but again I haven't used that.

I'm not in a cabled area, looks like my options are limited then.
