My parents back home are in the process of changing isp providers to SKY, which has been a hassle to say the least. Today was the day they were supposed to be activating the line but they have stumbled across a problem.
When connecting the router up to the microfilter to see if the connection has been activated it is cutting out the phone line and leaving the phone with no dial tone and just an echo of whatever you say down it. This also provides anyone dialing into the line with an engaged tone.
I don't really know what the problem is, I did think it might be a faulty microfilter but I'm not so sure.
Any ideas?
