broadband query

Hi,

My uncle is on broadband with "metronet" I have connected it up but he always has to dial in...He is using win xp home btw...

Broadband is always on right? But how comes he has to go to "connect to" even if you select the "auto dialup" box....

I am having a real blonde moment over this...

Please help

Modem i take it? Not a router?

It won't actually be dialing a number as such, it's just authenticating.

You can however change this by going into the 'internet options' within IE and then clicking on the connections tab. Once you are in there just select 'MetroNet' from the list and click 'Always dial my default connection'.

That should do the trick

Chuck the modem and get a router. You know it makes sense.
