Do any broadband routers offer broadband usage stats and particularly by connected device.

My daily usage jumped significantly yesterday (from a daily usage approx 1gb to 11.5gb).

I use wpa security and also restrict access to the network by mac address and as I live in a fairly rural area I don't think the usage is by 3rd party access.

There are various wireless devices in the house including iPhones, iPods, XBox's and laptops. I can't just use monitoring software on the PC's as that wouldn't tell me about the other devices usage. Ideally what I would like is to get the stats at source.

Do any routers offer this sort of logging facility?

None that I know of offer this with stock firmware.

Look into DD-WRT or similar and find one with what you need, then find the routers it's supported on.

Thanks for the info, I'm too sure i want to buy a new router just to flash it (does that invalidate any warranty).

My ISP has been able to give me a breakdown of the days usage by time so I hope I can work out who the culprits are (all fingers are currently pointing at the kids and YouTube).

Another router software to look at is Gargoyle. It does precisely what you are looking for, and some of the routers that it runs on can be had very cheaply (assuming you won't be running fibre speeds through it!)
