Broadband Speeds - BT ADSL

Hello all,

In the past few days my BT ADSL download and upload speeds have been horrendous. Barely 1mbit down if I'm lucky. It's a total pain. Can't stream anything off Netflix, Youtube, and it stalls even when changing song on Spotify etc.

The BT Home Hub says that it's still syncing at the usual 9 - 13mbit.

Any ideas what might be causing this? I've tried the usual BT online guide rigmarole but can't seem to fix anything. Is there a number to call?

I've unlimited broadband usage. A friend suggested I might be capped somehow? As a household we probably average about 150 - 170gb of data a month.

Thoughts?

What results do you get from the BT Broadband Performance Test site?

The results pretty much matched those on speedtest.net

I'll report back this evening as I'm back at work now. In terms of line attenuation it was something like 37db down. Marginally higher than usual, if that provides any use.

Edit: I'm also on an 'exchange only' line if that also helps.
