Broadband

It might be, but no one's suggested playing with the wiring. You're suggesting he'll get 8Mbps just by waiting a fortnight.

That has not a thing to do with this case.

No, if you read my posts above instead of jumping the gun. I have asked for information regarding his setup...

Also, the DLM does affect speed while it's active.

My connection is longer than the OP's. I sync at 8megs, so should he. If he doesn't it is then a line problem.

Hell, people I know with 63dB lines sync higher than the OP.

Thank you.

If you read your own posts before jumping on other peoples' you'd notice you only asked that umpteen posts after it was pointed out your comparison was rubbish ;)

Yes, but in this case it isn't. It's possible wiring's at fault but otherwise it's connected as fast as it's going to get and waiting a fortnight won't change that.

Again, comparison with other lines are meaningless. It's not a sign of a problem, just a difference in condition.

You obviously have a good quality line. I had a 53db line which I could not get to sync higher than 4Mbps, I tried EVERYTHING, filtered faceplates, ring wires, everything. The OP has a similar line to my old one, he will not get much more than about 4.5Mbps, 5 if he's lucky. As above, your line is in no way compareable to the OPs.

And, I know someone with a 63db line who barely syncs at 2Mbps, its hit and miss on quality of the cable. Again, their stats are irrelivant.

Bah, you have your points, I have mine. No point arguing.

Let's agree to disagree and help the OP if/when required?

Fair enough, maybe my comparisons are useless lol, but we don't know what his line will sync untill the DLM is off and how he has his modem setup.

Guess we won't find out until he replies.

I have my router connected to master socket, then connected to pc via ethenet cable my building is only 6 months old so line should be faily new does this help much.
